Forex no-deposit bonuses: how the withdrawal rules really work
The bonus itself is usually trading credit, not withdrawable cash. Learn how volume targets, profit caps, KYC and expiry clauses affect what you can take out.

A forex no-deposit bonus normally gives a new client trading credit without an initial cash deposit. In most offers the credit itself cannot be withdrawn. Only eligible profit may be withdrawable—and only after the trader satisfies identity, trading-volume, time and account rules.
No-deposit bonus does not mean free withdrawable cash
The useful question is not “How much is the bonus?” It is “What must happen before profit becomes withdrawable?” A $100 headline can be less useful than a $30 offer if the larger bonus carries an unrealistic volume target, short expiry or very low profit cap.
Six clauses to read before accepting any forex bonus
1. Is the bonus credit withdrawable?
Usually it is not. Withdrawing cash or profits may remove the credit immediately, which can reduce free margin and trigger a stop-out on open positions. Check what happens to both the credit and open trades when a withdrawal is requested.
2. What trading volume is required?
Convert the requirement into standard lots and estimated transaction cost. If the rule is expressed as a multiple of bonus or profit, calculate the exact target. Then ask whether you would trade that volume under your normal risk plan. Trading only to unlock a reward can turn a small promotion into a large spread and commission bill.
3. Which trades count?
Some terms exclude very short trades, hedged positions, certain instruments, copied trades or positions closed outside a minimum duration. A volume counter in the dashboard may also use a different definition from the headline terms. Save the version of the rules you accepted.
4. Is eligible profit capped?
An offer may cap withdrawals from bonus-generated profit even if the trading account displays a higher balance. Check for per-withdrawal caps, lifetime caps and clauses that cancel remaining profit after the first withdrawal.
5. What are the KYC, country and account restrictions?
Offers can be limited by country, age, account type, payment method, device, household or prior registration. “New client” may mean no previous account across the entire broker group. Never assume that seeing an advert proves eligibility in your jurisdiction.
6. When does the offer expire?
There can be several clocks: time to activate, time to complete volume, account inactivity and campaign expiry. Record each date. An offer described as ongoing can still allow the broker to change or end it under the campaign terms.
A simple bonus value test
Estimate expected trading cost before valuing the reward. Multiply required lots by the approximate round-trip spread and commission for the instruments you would actually trade. Add any deposit, conversion or withdrawal charges. If those costs approach the maximum profit you can withdraw, the bonus has little economic value even if it is technically legitimate.

Are forex no-deposit bonuses safe?
A promotion does not establish that a broker is trustworthy. Verify the broker and legal entity separately. Be cautious when a bonus is paired with guaranteed-profit language, no written terms, pressure to deposit more, or an unexpected payment request before withdrawal.
The CFTC advises researching an OTC forex dealer before depositing or sharing personal information. Regulation and disciplinary checks belong before the bonus comparison.
Can a broker cancel bonus profits?
It may be able to when the published terms give it that right—for example after an eligibility breach, prohibited strategy, duplicate registration or missed deadline. Vague discretion clauses are a reason to be cautious. If a broker rejects a withdrawal, request the exact clause, calculation and affected trades in writing.
Before you click claim
- Verify the broker’s legal entity and regulatory status.
- Download the full campaign terms and note the date.
- Calculate required lots and likely trading costs.
- Check the maximum withdrawable profit and all deadlines.
- Confirm that your country, account type and strategy qualify.
- Treat the bonus as optional credit, never as a reason to increase risk.
